RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Marlin P. Kline, 92, formerly of Middlebury and Millersburg, died at 12:08 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at his daughter's residence in Riverside, where he had lived for the past two-and-a-half years.
He was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Elkhart County to Shirley and Hazel Kline.
On Oct. 11, 1947, in Elkhart County, he married Alice Lorraine Herman. She died Oct. 6, 2009.
Surviving are daughters Patricia (James) Tognacci of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Nancy (Michael) Duncan of Riverside; and grandchildren Brian and Samantha Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mary Smoker, Dorothy Kline, Maurice Kline and Merritt Kline.
Marlin was a house painter and had worked as a millwright at CTS in Elkhart. He was a World War II U.S. Army and Air Forces veteran, serving from 1941 to 1945. He was a member of the Millersburg American Legion and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery in Millersburg, Indiana.
