Nyle C. Summerlott, age 71, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at his home.

He was born on February 26, 1943, in Angola, Indiana, the son of Conrad and Roberta (Lockhart) Summerlott.

He worked for many years on the Indiana Toll Road, and later worked at Dunham Motor Sales for 22 years, retiring in 2008.

He lived all of his life in Steuben County. He loved sports and fishing, and was an avid IU fan. He enjoyed woodworking and accomplished many projects over the years, many of these are displayed at the home of Phyllis Yates, his longtime companion, with whom he shared his last 22 years of his life with. He also enjoyed playing cards with many of his friends, and also had a group of friends that he enjoyed having coffee with each morning at the Angola McDonald's.

Survivors include his two daughters, Deborah (Jeffrey) Hart of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Diane (Robert K.) Williams of Murphysboro, Illinois; four grandchildren, Travis Clouse of Angola, Indiana, Megan Clouse of Terre Haute, Indiana, Jordan Williams of Murphysboro, Illinois, and Maggie Williams of Murphysboro, Illinois; a brother, Max (Pat) Summerlott of Coldwater, Michigan; his companion, Phyllis Yates of Angola, Indiana, and her three children, Linda (Richard) Coleman of Angola, Indiana, Sue (Timothy) Marshall of LaOtto, Indiana, and Kenneth Yates of Angola, Indiana; her five grandchildren, Brad (Kristi) Dailey of Angola, Indiana, Amy (James) Stewart of Dallas, Texas, Lauren Marshall of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ryan Marshall of LaOtto, Indiana, and Vincent Marshall of Indianapolis, Indiana;, and her five great-grandchildren, Bryce Dailey, Madison Dailey, Cooper Dailey, Gavin Stewart and Dayton Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad Summerlott; his mother Roberta Summerlott Lower; and his stepfather, Clair Lower.

There will be a visitation from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.

Following the calling hours a gathering and luncheon will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015, at the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes, 2955 West Orland Road, Angola, Indiana, prayers will be conducted by Pastor Thomas Smith.

Burial will be at Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana, at a later date
