Henrietta C. Adams, 82, of Mars, formerly of Mount Carmel, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at St. John Speciality Care Center after being in declining health since August.
Born in Mount Carmel on March 5, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Francis "Frank" and Catherine "Pearl" (Gethrdge) Puchalski.
She had been a resident of Mount Carmel all her life.
She was a 1944 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
She was married to Robert Merlin "Ace" Adams, who died in 2003.
A head cashier, she was employed by the former Ames Department store, Shamokin, for more than 25 years, retiring in 1991.
Prior to that, she worked as a long distance operator for Bell Telephone in Newark, N.J,, and as a payroll clerk for the United States Government.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, both of Mount Carmel.
She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed crossword puzzles.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Shimko.
