Mr. Benjamin F. Martin died April 11, 1898, at his home on north New York Avenue, Holton, Kansas, after a brief illness of seven days. Only ten weeks ago we recorded the death of his wife.
Since then his health had been failing and he seemed to be lonely. The deceased was born in Knott county, Kentucky, July 13, 1823. At his death his age was 74 years 6 months and 19 days. After his marriage in June 1844, He continued to live in the county of his birth until 1863, when he moved to Rowan county, Kentucky, where he lived until 1887. Eleven years ago he moved with his family to Kansas and purchased the property in Holton, where he died. Nine children are left to mourn the loss of a father. Three of them still live in Kentucky, and six are located in Kansas.
