Amy Burr Ursenbach, long time resident of Mt. Pleasant, Utah, passed away at home, May 15, 1996. She was born July 7, 1901 in Burrville, Utah, a daughter of Henry Sherman and Emma Jane Hancock Burr. Married Joseph Ursenbach, November 13, 1920 at Raymond, Alberta, Canada; solemnized December 3, 1920 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Survived by son, Gordon Ursenbach, of Las Vegas, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, three daughters and one son.
Moved to Mt. Pleasant, Utah in 1930, where she had been in the mortuary business until her retirement in 1976. She was awarded the Life Time Service Award by the Utah Funeral Directors Association in 1990. Amy was always very active in LDS Church, especially the Relief Society, where she served many years as secretary of both ward and stake. A great example to all, her faith and values always remained strong throughout her life.
She willingly served in the Red Cross and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the DUP, along with various ladies' clubs. She loved to travel and did extensive world-wide traveling from 1960 to early 1980. Lovingly remembered by her family for her devotion to their welfare and needs, her kindness, love and famous chocolate chip cookies.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 20, 1996 at 11 a.m., Mt. Pleasant Fourth Ward. Friends may call at Ursenbach Funeral Home, Sunday 6-7:30 p.m. and Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
