BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Hurricane was by far the most unforgettable "character" I've ever met! She made an impression right from the start... I first encountered Donna when I was 10 yrs old and she was 15. I was on a sidewalk next to a hedge, when she jumped out from the bushes directly in front of me, and standing nose to nose with bugged eyes announced, "Hi, I'm Donna...who are you?!" (Scared the crap out of me!)
Hurricane was a free spirited hippie of the 60s & 70s who fully embraced the counter-culture of the day, living life to the fullest with total abandon. Her lifestyle even included a period of time traveling and living with her first husband and children in a full size school bus whose exterior was painted in the requisite psychedelic colors.
Donna continued an unconventional life at Stinson Beach along with her eccentric second husband, a classically trained pianist and would dress to the nines when accompanying him to the San Francisco symphony. Hurricane was a fixture around Stinson where she enjoyed meeting people, and for many years cleaned homes along the beach. She was full of energy and always ready to seize life's next adventure. Donna loved to shock and you never knew what surprises might come rolling out of her mouth, usually in the form of too much information (eye roll)! She was quite an individual and could really be "out there" but there's never a time I think of her that a great big smile isn't all over my face! :-)
