E. D. M'GEE.

E. D. McGee, 59, of 214 Peach street, who was struck by a municipal street car on Jackson street near the Peach street intersection last Saturday, died from his injuries last night at a local hospital.

McGee was critically injured when a wheel of the street car which was operated by Motorman D. A. Moore passed over his left foot, which necessitated its amputation.

Reports of the accident indicated that Mr. McGee was walking across Jackson street from the east side of the thoroughfare when struck by the car. The street car was traveling northward.

Mr. McGee, who was a buyer and seller of produce, came to Monroe in 1931 from San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist church in West Monroe.

The funeral was held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Davis-Lawhead funeral chapel, and interment was in the old city cemetery. Rev. L. T. Hastings had charge of the services.

Besides his widow, Mr. McGee is survived by two brothers, Sam McGee and Gee McGee, and a sister, Mrs. Lula New, all residing at Alvoid [Alvord?], Texas.
