Chicago Tribune 1/23/1943 Abstract
Lt. Brutus M. Reitman, air transport command, late of 6826 S. Bishop, Jan. 21, 1943, husband of Dorothy Reitman, nee Hart, son of the late Dr. Ben L. Reitman and Anna Reitman. Interment Evergreen.

Started suffering from Spinal Meningitis while flying a fighter plane in formation. He dropped out of formation and landed safely in a cow pasture. Called Chanute field for an ambulance. When help arrived he was already unconscious.
