Danny was born in Fresno to his parents Nicholas "Nick" and Rafella "Effie" Caglia.
He grew up in Fresno as part of a large, loving and close knit family.
Dan served his country honorably as a U.S. Marine during World War II in the American and Asiatic Campaigns.
After his military service he chose a career as a truck driver for heavy construction.
In the early 1960's he married Dolores Norris and they had only one child, a beautiful daughter, Sara Jane Caglia Woolf.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Effie; and his brothers, Frank and Joseph. Danny is survived by his daughter, Sara Woolf and her husband Mark; his granddaughters, Jessica Escobedo and Melissa Woolf.
He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Mark, Nicholas, Seth, Mason and Katelynn whom he cherished; his sisters, Antoinette, Jennie, Rosie, Elisabeth and Julie; and his brother Louie.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church on Thursday, May 18, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
