Mr. Sawyer was a Millington High School graduate, marrying the former Judith Osborn on June 25, 1960 in Millington. He was employed with General Motors prior to graduation and until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; three sons and one daughter, Timothy (Allison) Sawyer of Caro, Tom (Bobbi) Sawyer of Gilford, Tanis Lerash of Mason, Terry Sawyer of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren, Christy Jo (Joe) Mularz of Sebewaing, Timothy, Scott, Nichole, Gabriel, Taylor, Sawyer and Cody Lerash; his mother, Vera Sawyer of Birch Run; three brothers, Kenneth (Clare) Sawyer of Florida, Chuck (Sharon) Sawyer of Houghton Lake and Stephen (Kate) Sawyer of Birch Run; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Harrison Sawyer, Jr.
The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronald Wigand of the First Baptist Church of Caro officiating.
Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
