Pioneer Edmonton Fire Chief. Thomas Gray Lauder was the eldest child of James & Hannah Lauder, the owners of the first bakery in Edmonton. Thomas was a pioneer member of the Edmonton Fire Department of which he was appointed Chief in 1911. He was instrumental in modernizing the department from horse drawn equipment to motorized fire trucks.
