Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 18th, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Born in grandfather Beavan's old house in Beavanville, Windsor, New York on August 8, 1908and died on May 14, 2006 in Bakersfield, California. Preceded in death by his wife, Maude and grandson, Brian. Ivan's children, Bertha married Robert Boyce and Ivan Jr. married, Lois. He has 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Ivan graduated from Drexel University as an electrical engineer in 1932. He worked on the railroad along with various other jobs until joining the I.B.E.W. in 1941. He served as Business Manager of I.B.E.W. Local 428 from February 1948 until July 1972. He was a member of the Elks #266, Mason's #466, and Masons HI-12. He had been the President and executive board member of the Buildings Trade and Central Labor Councils, Chairman of the Southern California and Nevada Electrical Association, member and chairman of the Kern County Planning Commission, member of the County Advisory Board, Executive Board member of the Bakersfield Boys Club. His accomplishments for the members of Local 428 are still enjoyed, such as the Pension Plan, the health and welfare plan plus many more. Ivan we thank you and you will certainly be missed.
