Betty J. Pfander, 81, of Macungie, went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2011. Born in St Louis, Missouri, she was the wife of Robert W. Pfander. They celebrated 60 years of marriage on February 24th. Betty attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. She taught Bible classes for teenagers and adults for many years. She also gave numerous Christian book reviews. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Allentown.

Survivors: Husband; two daughters, Debi Baker and her husband Brad of Allentown, Linda Sherman and her husband Joe of Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Jeff, Amie, Cheri and her husband Alexei, Jessica and her fiancee Justin; four great-grandchildren, Alisa, Natalia, Amira, and Evan; and brother Richard McAninch of Nevada; Betty was pre-deceased by her brother Charles McAninch.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, First Baptist Church, 1808 N. 19th Street, Allentown. Call 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus. Interment in Western Salisbury Cemetery, Allentown.
