Step-Father: William Jasper Harris
(See 1910 census notes below.)
NOTE: Majority of records show Evelyn's birthplace as Illinois, instead of Missouri (see records below). Siblings closest to her age were born in Illinois.
The Harris family didn't leave Illinois until 1896-1900.
On 15 June 1900 Wm. (?Jasper Harris) (b. ? 1857), wife Rosa (b. July 1872), children; Evaline (b. Dec. 1892), Bertha (b. Oct. 1894), Arolee (b. Apr. 1897) and Maud (b. Dec. 1898) lived in West Precinct Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. NOTE: Original is torn thru surname and penmanship is hard to read. This census says Evaline was born in Illinois.
In April 1910 William J. Harris (54) wife, Rosie (38), their children; Bertha L. (15), Arlie (14), Maudie (10), William P. (8), Carrie (5), and "step-daughter", Evelyn Adams (17) lived in St. John's Ward 2, Multnomah County, Oregon. It appears Rosie is Evelyn's mother. She's been married to William J. Harris for 17 yrs.. Since Evelyn is 17 in this census and listed as William's step-daughter, that means Evelyn's father left or died the year she was born. Rosie has given birth to 6 children/6 living, so that would indicate Rosie is the mother of all children listed in 1910 census, including Evelyn. Evelyn is listed as single, even though her last name shows "Adams". Floyd W. Adams (25) lives next door by himself, but is listed as married. NOTE: This census says Evelyn was born in Illinois.

On 13 January 1920 Floyd (35), Evelyn (27), children; Arleta E. (8), Bertha (6) and Loyd P. (3 7/12) lived on Woolsey St. in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. Floyd worked in a saw mill. NOTE: This census says Evelyn was born in Missouri.
By 21 April 1930 Floyd (45), Evelyn (37) and children; William (9), Wilbur L. (9), Eugene (7), Ellinor (2), Bertha (17) and Loyd P. (13) lived in LaCenter, Clark County, Washington. Sons, William and Wilbur were twins. NOTE: This census says Evelyn was born in Illinois.
By 15-16 April 1940 Floyd (55), Eveyline (47) and children; Lloyd P. (23), Wilbur L. (19), Eugene T. (16), Eleanor I. (12) and grandson, Raymond W. *Rudolph (11), had moved to 2021 Miller Ave., Vancouver, Clark County, Washington. NOTE: Names spelled as they appear on original image of this census. The "Randolph" family lives next door in 1920. This census says Eveyline was born in Illinois.
