Gayden was married to Margie Janelle Hemphill Swann on November 23rd, 1960. They had one daughter, Doris Lynn Swann Buttrell, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He worked in the school system as a teacher in 7th and 8th grades and also as Driver's Education instructor. Following retirement, he worked with Kirksey's Funeral Service. Gayden was a quiet man with a great sense of humor and was loved and appreciated by all who knew him.
