Perry Ellis Hurst of Clarksville, formerly of Pekin, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 15 days.

Born September 10, 1952 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Ellis and Eska Permelia (Gilchrist) Hurst. He retired from the Salem Fire Company in 2007 and was a volunteer firefighter with the Pierce-Polk Fire Department for 17 yrs. He was an EMT and a former dispatcher and jailer with the Washington County Sheriff's Department. Perry was a member of the Pekin United Methodist Church, the Sons of the American Revolution and he had been a life resident of Washington County.

Survivors include: Daughter: Sarah Ann Hurst-Lee, Clarksville and Son: Matthew Ellis (Heather) Hurst, New Albany; 2 Brothers: Patrick Hurst, Virginia Beach, Virginia and David Hurst, Pekin; 5 Sisters: Marie Lewis, Coarsegold, California, Barbara Brooks, Henderson, Kentucky, Susan Hart, Anderson, Indiana, Esther Wilhelm, Columbus, Indiana and Nancy McCoppin, Flagler Beach, Florida. He is also survived by 1 granddaughter: Lorelai Lee.

Memorial Service: 12:00 Noon Saturday at the Pekin United Methodist Church with Rev. Van Vuyovich officiating.

Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
