Esther, the 10 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Albrecht of Lafayette township, died Monday night of lockjaw, after a short illness. The child was taken ill Sunday.
The local physicians after first pronouncing the disease lockjaw, feared that infantile paralysis had developed and Dr. Charles R. Ball, a nerve specialist of St. Paul was summoned. It proved, however, that the original diagnosis was correct. Dr. W.P. Green of the State Health Department, St. Paul, was also notified and came to make an investigation.
Dr. Green also investigated two or three other cases in the vicinity, before returning. He decided there was no infantile paralysis here.
