Dorvil Earl Abel, 79, of the 100 block of Maish Avenue died of a heart attack Saturday at home. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Thursday at Waukee Cemetery in Waukee.
Mr. Abel was born in Osceola and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He had worked in the heating and air conditioning business before retiring and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Elnora Steffen of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Marna Nissen of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
