Mrs. Amy L. Southward, 77, of 1652 Capitol Ave., died of a heart attack Wednesday at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Clarke County and lived 36 years in Des Moines. She was a retired cook.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial in a cemetery at Waukee.
Mrs. Southward is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Brady, Mrs. Alice Ziegler and Mrs. Mae Abel, all of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Adeth Jones of Chariton, Mrs. Ida Monger of Pomona, Calif., and Mrs. Ethel Smuggs of Albuquerque, N.M., 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
