She was born February 11, 1918 in Mishawaka. Her parents were Archie and Bertha (Oster) McDonald.
Irene was a homemaker and a member of the United Brethren of Christ Church in Corunna. She attended the First Church of Christ in Garrett until her health wouldn’t allow it anymore
Irene married Jasper Newton Francis in 1945 in DeKalb County and he passed away in 1979.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Don and Judy Francis of Garrett; 2 granddaughters, Valerie (Daniel) Smith of Garrett and Michele (Mark) Goebel of Auburn; 5 great grandchildren, Kelsey Pinckney, Austin Pinckney, Annessa Smith, Colin Goebel, Caley Goebel; 3 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Paul McDonald.
Funeral service is 11 AM Monday March 2, 2015 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with Brother Bud Owen officiating. Burial will be in Corunna Cemetery in Corunna. Calling is Sunday from 2 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Haiti Missions thru the First Church of Christ in Garrett.
