Mary was first married to Daniel Chubbuck. Their first two children, Francis E. and Joseph S. were born in Pennsylvania. The family moved to Linn County, Iowa about 1858 where two children, Mary E. and Charles Ernest were born.
After Daniel died in 1861 she married Reuben Ash. One child, Ernest Ash, was born. That marriage doesn't seem to have worked out, in 1870 Mary is living by herself and two children, and by 1900 Mary was back in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
