Viola J. Mosier, 78, a resident of Centralia, died Feb. 9, 2003 at Providence Centralia Hospital.

She was born Nov. 5, 1924 in the Crego Hill area of Lewis County to Donovan and Vivian (Jussila) Ticknor. She was a descendent of the Ford and Ticknor Pioneer families of Lewis County.

She had lived in Thurston and Lewis counties until May 1952. She married George Mosier on July 13, 1948 in Olympia. In 1952 they moved to Brookings, OR. Mrs. Mosier had worked as a Bank Teller and Operations Officer in Olympia and Brookings, for many years. She was also a Vocal Teacher. She was a member of the Lyric Singers in Olympia in the early 1950's. She sang in and directed Church choirs and sang duets with her identical twin sister, Violet Varner.

She was a member of the First Baptist Community Church in Brookings since 1952. She was instrumental in forming the Writers Club in Brookings and was a Published writer of Newspaper and magazine articles. She also wrote and published poetry.

She and her husband returned to Centralia in 1999.

She is survived by: Husband: George E. Mosier, Centralia.

2 Daughters; Janet Westbrook, Bainbridge Island, WA & Brookings, OR, Judith Hanson, Brookings, OR.

1 Son: Carl Mosier, Brookings, OR.

1 Brother: Donovan Ticknor, Puyallup, WA.

5 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carl Ticknor and by her twin sister, Violet Varner.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Sticklin Funeral Chapel with Jeff Clare officiating. Private Interment will follow at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis, WA.
