Richard Eugene Ripley, 88, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Summit City Nursing Home. Born in Muncie, IN, Richard was a WWII and Korean War Veteran serving in both the Army and Air Force. He worked with GTE for 12 years, retiring in 1987. Richard was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed keeping busy working and spending time with his family. Surviving are his son, Patrick (Mary) Ripley of Fort Wayne, daughter, Joyce Neale, step-son, Timothy (Holly) Friedrich of Fort Wayne, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Hazel Ripley, wife, Dorothy Ripley, step-son, John Friedrich, and brother, Thomas Ripley. Service is 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with .calling one hour prior, Rev. David Mitchell officiating. Calling at the funeral home Monday, March 2, 2015, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
