Edie was married to Robert C. Jarvis of Buzzards Bay until his death in 1993.
Her passing is grieved by her children Robert L. Jarvis and wife Mary; Daughter Kathleen, Tina Jarvis and Son in law Rick Drummey; son David Jarvis his wife Leslie, and their two children, Katherine and Joseph Jarvis.
Edie prided herself of Family, education, and community service.
She received her B.S. Degree Home Economics from Framingham State Teachers College in 1946.
Edie's first teaching position was at Farmington-Unionville High School in Unionville, CT where she taught for several years.
She married Robert C. Jarvis of Buzzards Bay in 1949, and moved with him to her beloved Cape Cod where their four children, Robbie, Kathy, David, and Tina were born.
While the children were young, Edie taught cake-decorating in adult education classes and she belonged to the Bourne Junior Women's Club. She taught Home Economics at the Lyle Junior High School on Otis Air Force Base in Bourne, a position she held for nine years (retired 1976), she also maintained a small alterations business from her home.
More recently, Edie did volunteer work for the Bourne Food Pantry and the Bourne Council on Aging. She remained active and attended luncheons with the Cape Cod Framingham College Alumni Club. She enjoyed traveling with the A.A.R.P., Zumba classes, collecting antiques, frequenting yard sales and visiting with friends and family.
Visiting hours were held Wednesday Oct. 19th from 4 to 7 PM at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne.
A Celebration of her Life was held Thursday Oct. 20th at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by burial at the National Cemetery at 11:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the American Heart Association , 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701 or a Animal Rescue of your choice.
