teacher. carpenter. boatbuilder. Raised in White Sulfur Springs, University of Montana Western, Dillon, 1962. US Army, Vietnam. Taught school for a time in Havre, Montana. Married and eventually moved to Homer, Alaska. Returned to the White Sulfur area to build a home at Swan Lake, working for Montana Power in Calstrip for twenty years. He had apprenticed as a carpenter in high school, and continued to work with wood throughout his life, building any number of boats, and eventually a boathouse to house them. A man who knew him well said he could and did build any and everything. He never stopped building and improving his estate. He was an outdoorsman, very familiar with all the territory thereabouts.

George Roy died of leukemia. He was survived by his wife, two children, two grandchildren, his mother, one sister, and one brother.
