Mentha Ruth Zirschky, 96, was born July 13, 1916. She died Jan. 13, 2013, at Western Missouri Medical Center-Warrensburg.

She was an avid reader and bird enthusiast. She had participated in many charities of late; her focus charity was the Wounded Warrior Project.She did numerical and crossword puzzles every day.

She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She had a great love of traditional church hymns and spent hours reading and studying the authors and circumstances surrounding the creation of the hymns.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter; and her son.

Survivors include her four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family members who will all fondly remember her.

Services: Private family burial will take place at a later date. Cremation rites were accorded under the direction of Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo.
