The Bowling Green native worked for General Electric for a while and then worked for Union Underwear for 42 years. She also worked for Ken Rad Co. She made lifelong friends there and everywhere she went. She never met a stranger and greatly enjoyed to art of conversation. Her most cherished times were spent with her family and friends and she especially enjoyed holidays. She collected dolls and antique dishes and loved picking out special gifts for others. She was also a member of Forest Park Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Curtis Roland Young and Eula Snell Young and the wife of the late Don Pruitt. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann.
A celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with a private burial at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Joe Pruitt and his wife, Vera, of Bowling Green; a daughter, Rita Lawrence and her fiancé, Jerry Gorham, of Bowling Green; grandsons, Rodney, Curtis and Jack, Scott and Jim; granddaughters, Dawn, Kelly, Jenny, Laurel and Donetta; great-grandsons, Matthew, Jon and Beau; great-granddaughters, Emily, Kara and Jackie; and a nephews, Charles James.
