Alex was the son of Joseph Snay/Sene/Senet and Marie (Brian/Brien)..

He was married first to Angeline. Her maiden name maybe Gerard. There is a marriage in Fairfield Vermont dated Nov 24, 1868 of a Alexander Snay and Angeline Gerard/Berard. Alexander's occupation at this time was day laborer and he was born in Canada. They were married by the catholic priest.

Alexander age 65 and his wife Angeline age 42 were residing in Enosburg Vermont when the 1900 Census was taken. He said he was born Jun 1834 in Canada and immigrated in 1865. His occupation was a Truckman and he was renting a house. His wife Angeline said she was born May 1858 in Vermont and was married 35 yrs. She stated she was the mother of 5 with 5 living children. There were no children in household in 1900.

By 1903-1905 Angeline is listed in the St. Albans City Directories as Mrs Angeline Snay (no mention of her husband). She is living on Pine Street near Lascelle Street in St. Albans, Vermont.

Alexander/Alex married second to Mary (Goche) on June 2 1914 at the age of 70 yrs, in Enosburg Vermont. He stated he was widowed at this time. So Angeline died between 1905 and 1914.

When the 1920 Census was taken, Alexander age 75 born Canada was residing on 2 Laselle Street in St. Albans, Vermont. His new wife Mary is age 75 and born in Vermont. His occupation is listed as Truckman. Also in household is border Nelson Hemingway age 8 born in Vermont.

Mary dies May 1924 in Enosburg, Vermont.

Usual residence was Enosburg, Franklin Co., Vermont.

When the 1930 Census was taken, Alexander was living in the Sheldon Poor House, on Poor Farm Road in Sheldon, Vermont. He was age 91 and born in Canada and stated Widowed. No occupation.

He died in the Poor Farm in Sheldon, Franklin co., Vermont at the age of 101 years, 7 mos, 2 days.

His burial location has not been found as of yet. No stone in previous years at the poor farm cemetery in Sheldon..

Apparently poor enough to live on the poor farm, so he may have a unmarked burial some place.
