Norman K. Dickinson, a lifelong Janesville resident, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, February 27, 2015 at the St. Mary's Janesville Hospital Emergency Department. He was born May 20, 1926 in Janesville, the eldest son of Floyd and Alma (Krupp) Dickinson. He attended school in Janesville, and then enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving his country during World War II in Belgium and England. On October 9, 1948 he married Grace (Babcock) Hilt in Land O' Lakes, WI. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2004. Norm worked for many years for the City of Janesville as a Mechanic until his retirement. Prior to his employment for the city, he had worked for Ray Whiting as a TV repairman. Norm loved working in small engine repair, and many people picked up good deals on used lawn mowers from his front yard! He loved to eat out at his favorite restaurant where the waitresses knew him as "Trouble"! He also put many miles on his vehicles while driving around town checking on what was going on! He was a longtime faithful member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He also was a Life Member of the V.F.W. Kienow-Hilt Post 1621. Norm is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, his 2 step-children, whom he raised from childhood, his 5 grandchildren, his 9 great-grandchildren, his 2 sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Riedell, his brother, Everett Dickinson, and a brother-in-law. Whitcomb-Lynch Funeral Home.
