Gene E. Dluhos, 69, of Waukee, died of leukemia, Friday, March 9, 2001 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Mass of Christian burial was held March 13 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee, of which he was a member. Burial was in the Waukee Cemetery.

Gene Dluhos was born in Waukee to Fred and Josephine (Bardesono) Dluhos, and had lived there all his life. He married Margaret Ann "Peg" McIntyre on June 1, 1957 at Assumption Catholic Church in Granger.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Dluhos.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg" Dluhos of Waukee; one son, John Dluhos of Waukee; four daughters, Kathy Burger of Waukee, Karen Dluhos of Waukee, Colleen Smith of Grimes, and Deb Willcockson of Urbandale; one sister, Carol Vavra of Des Moines; and eight grandchildren.
