Obituary
John Balding, was born, Oct. 22nd, 1820, in Monroe Co., Ohio. He was married to the widow who now survives him, March 15th, 1842, at Terre Haute, Ind. He migrated to Kansas, in 1872, and settled in Butler county, where he resided till death claimed him, Jan. 2th, 1902. He was at the time of his death, aged 81 years, 3 months and 5 days. He was the father of eight children, five of whom survive him. He obeyed the gospel, thereby becoming a member of the Church of Christ, worshiping at Haverhill, Butler county, in the year 1875, retaining his membership with said congregation to time of death.
