James Aaron Winter, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died Wednesday, May 18, 1994, peacefully at home.

He was born March 20, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James P. and Katie Merle Nichols Winter. Spent his youth in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. Married Dorothy Hardy on May 3, 1941. Solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1989. Served honorably in the U.S. Army in World War II. Employed by the Ohio Match Company and was transferred to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1950. Subsequently a sales representative with Ohio Medical Products, during which time he received many distinguished sales awards, and retired in 1981. Returned to live in Utah in 1988. Was a member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities both in California and Utah.Jim (Aaron) had a natural ability to interact with others and was a success in his career and his life. His family knew how much he loved them by the quantity and quality of time he spent with them. He was a snappy dresser, enjoyed fine food and barbequeing, golfing, gardening, traveling, walking with grandchildren, family holiday times, and all enjoyed his wit and humor.

Loving survivors include his wife; four daughters: Karen (Allan) Lutz; Janine (Fred) Hansen; Nancy (Tom) Parry; Michele Eccles; and 12 grandchildren; a brother, Wayne; and a sister, Verna Allen. Preceded in death by his brother, Richard.

He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 1994 at 12 noon in the Mueller Park 9th Ward, 1800 Mueller Park Road, Bountiful. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services.
