MILITARY: NAVY

Enlistment Date 1: 26 Oct 1942

Release Date 1: 24 Feb 1946

WW II. My late father enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served four years total in the European and Pacific theaters. Referring to Navy Muster Rolls, he served on the U.S.S. ANNE ARUNDEL (Amphibious Boat Crews) on June 30, 1943 as a Motor Machinist Mate 2nd class. On Feb 01, 1946 he was on the U.S.S. HAMBLEN serving as CMoMM(AA)(T) which I think means Chief Motor Machinist Mate. I think the T stands for turbine. I don't know what the AA indicates.

When he left the Navy he attended Villanova University. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering using assistance provided by the G.I. bill. He worked his entire career for U.S.Steel (now USX) including after retirement when he provided consultation services for them and others around the world.
