Charlotte Sech was born Carolina Rakay in 1896. She was baptized in 1896 in Vrbove, Hungary which is now Slovakia. Her parents were Maria Okienka Rakay and Georgius Rakay. Maria AND George are buried in Sacred Heart Cemetary in Phoenixville, PA. Maria emigrated to the USA with four of her children: Rudolphus, Gizella, Geba (Geza) and Carolina aboard the SS Kaiser Wilhelm. They arrived May 20th, 1903 into the port of New York. Somewhere along the way Carolina became Charlotte. She was actually the second Carolina born to her parents. The first was born in 1891. The 1910 census showed her living with Gizella "Lizzie" Vleseke and her husband and children in Phoenixville. Many names were misspelled back then. Vleseke became Vleck and Vlcek. The baptismal records are from Slovakia and maintained online in Salt Lake.
