10 Jan 1872 Warren Co PA Augustus married Sarah Jane Way, daughter of Lorenzo Dow and Mary D. Green Way, both of Warren Co PA.
Three children were born to this union, Myrtie Vena Malvina, Cora May and Earl S. Johnson.
His wife, Jane died 30 Oct 1924, he never remarried.
Augustus was a life long farmer.
