*Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine (vol. 30, no. 1) Published by Genealogical Society of PA pg 10. #5. Ann Bedford, daughter of William and Catherine (Jaquet) Bedford was born in 1747. She became the second "wife of John Stockton and daughter of William Bedford" and died 15 March 1807, aged 60 years. (Gravestone inscription Presbyterian Cemetery, New Castle, Delaware) Her grave is next to that of her father.

John Stockton's first wife, Ann (Griffith) Stockton, mother of his children, had died 15 April 1790, aged 45 years, according to the gravestone inscription in
Immanuel Churchyard, New Castle.

With a New Castle County, Delaware license dated 24 May 1808, Brigadier-General John Stockton married his 3rd wife, Mrs. Sarah Hyatt. The wedding was noticed in "Poulson's American Daily Advertiser", Philadelphia, "of the 27th inst.

John Stockton was born 15 November 1754, the son of John and Elizabeth, according to the register of St. Stephens, North Sassafras Parish, Cecil County, Maryland. The gravestone inscription in Immanuel Churchyard reads "John Stockton
born in 1755, died Oct 29th 1822, an Officer of the Revolution"
