Beth, daughter of Astrid Linnea (Nelson) and Traynor Frank Hansen, Sr. She grew up in the Seattle area, graduating from Shoreline High School in 1975. On Feb. 14, 1977 she married Joel Anderson in Shoreline Wash. Beth sold Avon, did accounting work, was a homemaker and attended college. In the winter of 2000, Beth came to Iowa, settling in Jewell. She continued to do some tax and accounting work and pursued her love of writing. She worked for The Messenger in Fort Dodge and then, the Tribune in Ames.
Beth is survived by her children, Eric Gregory Anderson of Jewell, Mark Thomas Anderson and Rachel Catherine Anderson both of Seattle, Wash., Peter David Anderson and Elizabeth Rose Anderson, both of Jewell; her parents, Traynor and Astrid Hansen of Shoreline, Wash.; brothers, David Hansen of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Traynor Hansen, Jr. of Hudsonville, Mich., and Peter Hansen of Henley, England; sisters, Amy Keith of Monroe, Wash., Teresa Shemaria of Seattle, Wash., and Linnea Blake of Lake Forest, Calif.; and her former husband Joel Anderson of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.
