Funeral services were held for Mrs. Edna Aline Ward Davidson on Monday, December 31st, 1979 at 2 p.m. in the Braswell Funeral Home Chapel at Malden, Missouri with Rev. Delbert Bishop officiating. Interment was in the Malden Park Cemetery in Malden.
Mrs. Edna Aline Ward Davidson born fourth of ten children on May 8, 1892, and departed this life on Friday, December 28, 1979 at Jackson Manor in Jackson, Missouri at the age of 87 years and 7 months and 20 days.
Her family migrated to Missouri from Richland Center, Wisconsin by covered wagon. Mrs. Davidson was born in Venus, Nebraska on the way to Marysville, Mo. to Lewis Lincoln Ward and Rachel Iona Moon. Some years later, they moved to Boekerton, Mo. where her father farmed and owned a sawmill until his death in 1913.
She was united in marriage to Oscar Lee Davidson on August 14, 1910 in Portageville. To this marriage was born five children. Her husband preceded her in death on December 4, 1957. Also preceding her in death were three children, Herman, Viola Mae and an infant daughter.
Mrs. Davidson was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She was of the Baptist faith
She is survived by one son, Oshel Lee Davidson of St. Petersburg, Florida; one daughter, Rachel Iona Caldwell of Portageville; six grandsons, William Eugene Poynor if St. Peters, Mo.; Paul Wayne Davidson; Harry Truman Davidson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; James David Davidson of Illinois; Robert Davidson of Illinois; and Kenneth Lynn Caldwell of Morley, Mo.; six granddaughters, Dorothy Mae Evans of Illinois, Shirley Anne Landers of Portageville; Brenda Maulden of Germany; LaRetha Campbell of O'Fallon, Mo.; Anita Henson of Hayti and Patricia Sue Kaye Bowden of Portageville; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and other relatives, friends and neighbors.
Pallbearers were William Eugene Poynor, Rod Campbell, Kenneth Caldwell, Herschel Bowden and Darrell Campbell.
