Kenneth F. Bailey, 65, of Adel died of a heart ailment on Oct. 13 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center at Des Moines.

He was born at Des Moines and lived most of his life in Adel. He was a self-employed contractor, carpenter and estimator, retiring in 1990. He served with the U. S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Bailey; five sons, Danny Bailey of Indianapolis, Inc., Dar Bailey of DeSoto, Del Bailey of Adel, Benny Hutzell of Urbandale and Kip Hutzell of Des Moines; a daughter, Robin Bailey of Adel; his parents, Cloey and Phoebe Bailey of Adel; four brothers, Don Bailey of Minburn, Ed Saunders of Indianola, Chuck Saunders of California and Robert Saunders of Oceanside, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.
