This was my father, John (Jack) J. McCarthy, Sr. aka Jelly Belly, he was born on February 10, 1935 to James & Elizabeth McCarthy, in addition he had an older sister Elizabeth (Betty) McCarthy-Harris. At the age of 28, he had married my mother, Vivian (nee McLaughlin) on September 28, 1962, and they had 2 children, John J. Jr., and Kathyann.

When my father was young, he served in the Navy during the Korean War. Most of his life he had worked as a auto mechanic, and when he was young he loved to race cars at the former Weissglass Speedway Racetrack for A to Z Auto on Staten Island. Hard working man all his life, my dad did whatever it took to provide for his family, even after a serious injury working as a mechanic that cost him to loose his left eye. Just a few years before he had past away, he had started his own flatebed trucking business, and was doing very well. Then on evening of July 28, 1983, an extremely hot summer night and after putting a very long day in at work, my father passed away at home from a massive heart attack. I miss him so very much, I only had my dad for the first 14 years of my life.

His his mother Elizabeth passed away in March 1986. His son, John McCarthy,Jr. on February 24, 2004 at the age of 39. And in February And in 2005 his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Harris had passed away.

I love you Dad and miss you so very much. With Puckered-up lips I send you a million kisses. Love, Peace & Prayers to you always Daddy!
