NEW ALBANY – Charles S. Wright Sr., 78, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a extended illness. He was born March 16, 1931, to Maynard and Vola Rhea Heflin Wright. He was a retired business owner. He was a devoted member of the Christ Community Baptist Church. He will be best remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Neal officiating and the Rev. Jack Maroon assisting. Burial will be in the Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Wright; two sons, Charles Wright Jr. of Memphis and Perry Wright (Patti) of Dumas; one sister, Laura Blythe of Tupelo; two brothers, Jack Wright of Mt. Pleasant and David Wright (Hilda) of Milford, Conn.; two grandchildren, Randy Wright (Jennifer) and Karen Nan Rushing (Adam); two great-grandchildren, Gavin Rushing and Peyton Rushing; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lillian Wright; one sister, Louise Wright Maroon of Belmont; one brother, Robert M. Wright of Fulton, Mo; and two nephews, Alan Black and Robbie Wright.

Pallbearers will be Sam Blythe, Tad Maroon, Mark Maroon, Brian Wright, Kevin Wright, Donnie Wright, Danny White, Tim White and Jerry Williams.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Foley and Bryan Gillespie.
