Margarito “Yoyo” “Bird” DeLeon Calderon Jr. passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 61 years, 4 months, and 6 days. He was born on Oct. 19, 1953, in Floresville to Leonor and Margarito DeLeon Calderon Sr.

He was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

Margarito was preceded in death by his father, Margarito DeLeon Calderon Sr.; and grandson Noah Calderon.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Salinas Calderon of Floresville; mother Leonor Calderon of Floresville; children Cynthia Calderon, John Albert Calderon, and Margarito Calderon III and wife Tabiola; sisters Gloria Sendejo and husband Daniel, Oralia “Lolly” Nieto and husband Johnny “Gus,” and Sylvia Clark and husband Tony; grandchildren Robert Sauceda Jr. and wife Melanie, Samantha Elyse Sauceda, Adam Diego Sauceda, Jessie Nicole Calderon, Danielle Margarita Calderon, Ashlynn Eva Calderon, Margarito “Magoo” Calderon IV, and Emalynn Elizabeth Calderon; great-grandchildren Jayden Michael and Julian Ray Sauceda; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 1, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, officiated by Deacon Mike Perez.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with the Rev. Frank Kurzaj officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were John Albert Calderon, Margarito Calderon III, R.J. Sauceda, Adam Sauceda, Armando Salinas, Richard Alfaro, Ruben Ortiz, and Arturo Marroquin.
