Christine Pearl Durbin, 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed into eternal rest Friday, April 14, 2006 at home in Sapulpa after an extended illness.
Christine was born in Bernice, Okla. on May 14, 1934 to Elise C. Matney and Martha Ann Hall.
Christine retired from Liberty Glass after 30 years of service. She was a member of Garden Heights Free Will Baptist Church, where she worked with the children's ministry.
She spent countless hours with her family and friends. Christine shared her love for bowling and crocheting with her fmily and friends, and spent many summers at the lak camping and fishing with family.
Christine was preceded in death by: brothers Orville Matney, Louis Matney, R.D. Matney and Ray Matney; sisters Mae Matthews, Goldie Anderson and Evelyn Marie Matney; one beloved daughter, Derberah Kay McCarthy; and a beloved grandson, Ronald Cokely.
Christine is survived by: her husband of 57 years, Donald; two daughters, Donna Jones and husband Johnny, and De Ann Ashlock and fiance Carl Burgess, of Sapulpa; sister Sylvia Dunback, of Riverdale, Calif.; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Christine are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Garden Heights Free Will Baptist Church in Pratville with the Rev. Doyle Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery, where she will join her daughter, grandson, parents and siblings in sweet rest.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Chris Jones, Gary Ashlock, Raymond Ashlock, Ark Jones, Robert Wadley and Tyler Jones.
Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
