WELLSVILLE-Betty Adkins-Bailey, 71, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. Born Nov. 25, 1943 in Chester, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Violet (Brewer) Wyke Sr.

Betty was a former Instrument Technician at Ohio Edison and she was an avid pool league player, "Bankin Betty. "

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Adkins; a granddaughter, Amanda Parish; two great-grandsons, Camron Wood and Conner Schenck; two sisters, Shirley Gallop and Bonnie Lewis; and two brothers, Danny Wyke Sr. and Richard Wyke.

Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Cogar of Wellsville, Cynthia Parrish of East Liverpool and Rosemary Melott of Wellsville; two sons, Robert M. Melott Jr. of East Palestine and Gregory S. Melott of East Liverpool; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Wyke Jr. of California, Tommy Wyke of Ohio, John Wyke of East Liverpool; and two sisters, Charlene Bailey of Chester and Gloria Boyd of Ohio.

Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, W.Va., where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014. Pastor Dirk Hall will officiate.

Burial will be held at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, W.Va.
