ROBERT WOMACKS DROWNED, BODY IS NOT RECOVERED

FATHER GOES TO CULVER, IND. TO ASSIST IN SEARCH FOR REMAINS.

Robert Womacks, 23-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs L.P. Womacks, residing northwest of Champaign, was drowned near Culver, Ind., Wednesday afternoon, according to a message received by his father from Mrs. Womacks Wednesday night. Mrs Womacks and her son had been visiting another son, Pete Womacks who resides on a farm near Culver. According to the message, young Womacks had been rowing in a leaky boat. Further particulars were not given, save that his body had not been recovered. Mr. Womacks departed this morning to assist in the search for his sons body. The young man was one of a family of seven sisters and five brothers. He was a student of Champaign high school for three years. The sisters and brothers surviving are: Mrs Dr Laffon of Kansas; Mrs. Kate Phillippe, northwest of Champaign; Mrs Stella Jackson of Champaign; Mrs Arthur Burwash of Monticello; Mrs Bertha Lehman of Fisher; Mrs George Besore of near Savoy, and Misses Sabra and Ruth, at home; Roscoe Womacks of Washington state; Pete Womacks of Indiana; Sewell Womacks of Detroit, Mich., and Heaton Womacks, at home.
