Ruth H. Bagby, 100, passed away at 7:55 a.m. October 18, 2003, in the Aurora Community Hospital. She was born May 6, 1903, in Aurora to James and Celia (Hurst) Howard. Ruth was a homemaker, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aurora and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

On August 6, 1922, she married Russell S. Bagby. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1971. Her parents, sister, Lucille Howard, and granddaughter, Jean Ann Carr also preceded her in death.

Ruth is survived by one son, Howard Bagby and his wife Jewell; one grandson, Terry Bagby and his wife Kim, all of Aurora; five great-grandchildren, Tara Shoemaker, Lesley Carr, Lyndy, Kyle and Clayton Bagby; and two great-great-grandchildren, Zachary and Drew Shoemaker.

Graveside services under direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 21 in the Maple Park Cemetery with the Rev. Malana Scruggs officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
