Rev. A. Bartz, who has served as pastor of the Zion Lutheran church in Alexandria from 1890 until his retirement in 1942, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital Wednesday evening. He had been in ill health for some time and was admitted to the hospital last Friday.
Since his retirement from the active ministry in 1942, he had been honorary pastor of Zion Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife, two sons and two daughters. The children are: Rev. Herbert Bartz, Royal Oak, Mich.; Harold Bartz, Alexandria; Mrs. John Boyd (Ruth), Alexandria; and Mrs. Merle Roberts (Pauline) in Washington. There are four grandchildren.
