R. Dale Anderson, 73, passed away April 26, 2006, at his home in Columbia Falls.

He was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Great Falls to Lester and Bernice Anderson. Dale attended school in Columbia Falls and later received an associate of arts degree from Flathead Community College.

He served in the Army for two years and the Army Reserve for six years.

Dale worked on the Alaska pipeline and on road construction for many years.

He belonged to the Shriners and enjoyed staying busy at retirement, doing yard work and helping elderly people with theirs.

He was a Grizzly sports fan and enjoyed rafting and camping. He took great pride in his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joann.

Dale is survived by his children, Tim Anderson of Anchorage, Alaska, Mark Anderson and Elizabeth Remington of Kalispell, and Michael Anderson of Belgrade.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with military graveside honors. Friends may meet after the service at Mark Anderson's residence.

Arrangements are with the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
