Maurice "Tim" Messamer, 89, of Adel, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

The body was cremated. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Panther Creek Church of the Brethren of Adel, of which he was a member. Burial of the cremains will be at the Panther Creek Church Cemetery.

Tim Messamer was born in Redfield, and lived his entire life in the Dallas County area. He was a farmer until retiring in 1966, then worked as a custodian for the Adel School District until 1971. He was a member of Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Messamer of Adel; one daughter, Sharon Garoutte of Adel; two sons, David of Mason City, and Kelly of Grand Junction; three grandchildren; two brothers, Phil of Adel, and Charles of Avon, Ind.; and five sisters, Hazel Price and Lois Robinson of Dallas Center, Lucille Diddy of Dades City, Fla., Jessie Blomquist of Stuart, and Mary Cunningham of Perry.
