OBITUARY FOR:
Anne Craterfield

COAL CITY-Anne Lawn Craterfield, 100, of Coal City passed away March 9, 2015 at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Morris, IL.

Anne was born to Anton and Mabel (Sayers) Buberle on Sept. 14, 1914 in West Frankfort, IL. She was raised and educated in Coal City, IL. She married James Craterfield on June 5, 1937. She worked at various jobs through the years including Hymans Clothing and the Toni Garment Company as a hand sewer and sales person. Anne then worked as the Coal City site supervisor for Grundy County Senior Services, retiring at age 85.

Anne taped an interview "WWI, on the Home" which is archived at the Coal City Public Library. She was named Woman of the Year in 1994 by the the GFWC Illinois Prairie State Woman's Club. She enjoyed quilting and playing euchre with her friends, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Anne is survived by her four children: James (Sharon) Craterfield of Coal City, Thomas Craterfield of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; Hope (Stephen) Allen of Lemont and Robert (Kim) Craterfield, of Coal City. "Grandma Anne" had 10 grandchildren: Tom (Mollye) Craterfield, Danette (Dave) Wren, Tracy (Mike) Craterfield, Hilary (Kenny) Huston, Carrie Reichert, Michelle (Bobby) Ray, Amanda (Craig) Frost, Ryan (Sally) Allen, Jennifer (Jason) Brandon, and Nicole Craterfield; 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and very special nieces, Pearl Wilson, Charlotte Morris, Tonita Koslowski and Barbara Fields.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James; infant daughter, Mary and siblings: Lillian Monferdini, Charles Buberle, Barbara Bergera, Thomas (Buster) Buberle and Emil Buberle.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.

Memorial donations in Anne's name may be sent to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church Building Fund, 195 S. Kankakee St., Coal City, IL 60416.
